Notes: This dark lager is a rich and complex beer that is perfect for those who enjoy a deeper, more full-bodied brew. It pours a deep mahogany colour. The aroma is filled with notes of roasted coffee, dark chocolate, and a hint of caramel, thanks to a selected blend of roasted malts including locally grown Field 5 Pilsner and Vienna, biscuit malt from Red Shed Malting, pale chocolate, dextrapils and carafa III. On the palate, this dark lager has a medium body and a smooth, creamy mouthfeel. The sweetness of the malt is well-balanced by the bitterness of the hallertau mittelfruh hops. The finish is clean and crisp, with a slight lingering bitterness. Despite its depth and complexity, this dark lager is incredibly drinkable.
